A guide to growing "hardy tropicals" in southern Ontario, Canada.

Well I thought we had seen the last of winter. But In Canada you never know. The Sabal will not be bothered too much I hope, but the little Violas probably like this about as much as I do.
Great website and nice palm! I have experimented with hardy tropicals myself but find them often difficult to find to purchase. Where could I find hardy tropicals for sale in the Niagara area? Any suggestions for where in Niaraga area would carry a selection of Windmills, Sabals, Needle palms, southern magnoliasm etc;? Thanks!
There are gardeners in zn 6 Canada who want to try plants that common sense tells you should not grow here. Surprisingly many of them do. This blog looks at many exotic plants that do survive our winters, as well as some that don't.
